NVQ Course Dates

NVQ Level 4 in Learning and Development

Information on course structure:
To achieve a full certificate you are required to complete 8 mandatory units and 4 optional units.

Mandatory Units Unit Number

Contribute to the development of learning within the organisation 5/G2 Evaluate and develop own practice 6/G3 Design learning programmes 11/L4 Agree learning programmes with learners 12/L5 Manage the contribution of other people to the learning process 15/L8 Create a climate that promotes learning 16/L9 Evaluate and improve learning and development programmes 24/L17 In addition the eighth mandatory unit must be selected from one of the following two options: Either: Identify the learning and development needs of the organisation 9/L2 or: Identify individual learning aims and programmes 10/L3

Optional units
4 optional units must be chosen.

Optional Units Unit Number

Either: Assess learners using a range of methods 1/A1 or: Assess learners’ performance through observation 2/A2 (N.B. Please note only one of the above 2 units may be chosen) Prepare and develop resources to support learning 14/L7 Enable group learning 20/L13 Support workers by mentoring in the workplace 21/L14 Support and advise individual learners 22/L15 Monitor and review progress with learners 23/L16 Respond to changes in learning and development 25/L18 Provide learning and development in international settings 26/L19 Plan how to provide basic skills in the workplace 28/L21 Introduce training for basic skills in the workplace 29/L22 Conduct internal quality assurance of the assessment process 33/V1
